Karachi Kings’ skipper, Imad Wasim, expressed that Babar Azam’s departure has not halted the team’s progress.

He addressed the media in a press conference before their first match of PSL 8, clarifying that franchise cricket has a typical routine where players move from one team to another, and new players fill the gap left by the former ones.

Despite Babar Azam’s significant contributions to the team, Imad mentioned that they would try to make the best possible team lineup without him.

Imad Wasim also added that the team has no hard feelings against any player, and everyone is a professional, playing for their respective teams. He stated that the decision of selecting the captain and players for the team lies solely with the team owners and not him.

Imad expressed his excitement for PSL 8, which is known to be a tough competition, improving the skill set of domestic and international players alike. He mentioned that performing well in the PSL increases the players’ value and opens doors for them in other leagues worldwide.

Imad also appreciated the strong local player’s presence in the league and claimed that it increased the league’s competitiveness.

In response to a question, Imad acknowledged the importance of the fast bowler, Muhammad Aamir, in the team and indicated that they would manage his workload since he has played too much cricket recently.
