Pakistan’s Women’s team captain, Bismah Maroof, has been ruled out of the Group B match against England in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup.
Maroof sustained niggle in the groin during her innings against West Indies last Sunday. The vice-captain, Nida Dar, will lead the side in today’s match at the Newlands, which will begin at 6:00 PM.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) medical panel has advised Ayesha Naseem to take four to six weeks of rest, who pulled her hamstring in the match against Ireland on 15 February.
With the absence of the two players, Pakistan’s chances of winning the game have become more challenging. However, they will look to finish their World Cup campaign on a high note.
It is important to note that Pakistan has already been eliminated from the tournament, with England and India having secured their places in the semi-finals from Group B.
Despite not making it to the next round, Pakistan’s performance in the tournament has been promising, and the team will be hoping to build on it in future competitions.
